India is set to operationalise its own navigational system with the succesful launch of IRNSS-1D, the fourth in the series of seven navigational satellites, onboard PSLV-C27 from Sriharikota.
ii. The expendable rocket had a single but important luggage, the 1,425 kg IRNSS-1D.
iii. The rocket blasted off from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, around 80 km from Chennai.
